Jews around the world celebrated Purim earlier this month with many traditional observances, including reading the scroll of Esther. The story is a reminder of one woman’s faithfulness and courage answered by God’s divine reversal.

As the story is told, listeners react positively as they hear the names of Mordecai and Esther, while hissing and booing at the name of evil Haman, the man who tried to deceive a king into committing genocide.

As you may recall, Haman (BOO!) schemed to eradicate the Jews. But Mordecai (YAY!) and Esther (AHH!) fasted and prayed for deliverance.

"It is clear," Mordecai (YAY!) told Esther (AHH!), "that you were chosen as Queen so that you might be of service to your people just on such a fateful day … "

Esther (AHH!) told Mordecai (YAY!) to "Gather all the Jews of Shushan, young and old alike, and fast and pray on my behalf for three days, until their pleas will reach Heaven and God will have mercy on us. Here in the palace, I and my maidens will fast and pray likewise, for nothing but a miracle of God can save our people.”

Despite a decree that had already been issued, God heard Esther (AHH!) and the peoples’ prayers, working a miracle of divine reversal. The Jews were spared, and Haman (BOO!) was executed for his treachery.

Fast-forward nearly 2,500 years to the Jewish year 5783 (the year 2023 on the western calendar) and Israel is facing danger, not from Haman, but from another scheming enemy.

Joe Biden has all but gifted Iran the ability to build a nuclear bomb. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recently announced that the Iranians have enriched their nuclear material to 83.7%, just 6% lower than the 90% purity they need to build a nuclear bomb.

According to the IAEA, it will take Iran as little as 12 days to assemble the materials for such a bomb. The IAEA also noted that Iran is stockpiling other nuclear material enriched to 60%, which it can use to build a “dirty bomb.”

Joe Biden is funding the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) “Pay-to-Slay” program. Despite the unambiguous language of U.S. law under the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits the U.S. government from funding Palestinians so long as they continue to pay bounties on Israeli heads, Biden has given millions of dollars to the PA. They, in turn, use that money to pay terrorists and their families up to 3,500 dollars per month for successfully killing Israeli Jews.

And Joe Biden tried to interfere with official Israeli domestic affairs. Over the rightful objections of the Israeli government, Biden sent the American FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) to Israel to investigate the deaths of two Palestinians killed during skirmishes with the Israeli Defense Forces.

Joe Biden tried to throw the Israeli election. Biden put his finger on the scale to give Israel’s left-wing interim Prime Minister Yair Lapid an electoral lift just before Israelis voted in a contest pitting Lapid against Netanyahu. Praise God, Biden’s Israeli election tampering failed.

And now, it appears that the Biden administration, through the CIA and former Obama operatives, is trying to overthrow the Netanyahu government by fostering discontent and street riots.

Middle East expert Lee Smith writes, “The Biden Administration has departed from diplomatic protocol by repeatedly advertising its meetings with the political faction seeking to undermine Israel’s newly elected right-wing government.

“More significantly,” Smith continued, “Biden’s State Department is now directly funding local activists organizing the protests. By publicly putting its prestige and money behind the coalition that lost the latest Israeli election, Washington is openly advertising its desire to bring down Netanyahu.”

Israel’s biggest threat these days comes not from Middle East enemies, but from what was once Israel’s strongest ally.
