West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin hasn’t exactly been one of Israel’s most prominent champions, but his serious concerns over the Biden administration’s capitulations to Iran may help protect the Holy land.

“I remain very concerned about your ongoing negotiations with Iran regarding a return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)” the Senator wrote in a formal letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Tuesday.

Senator Manchin’s letter demanded “a detailed briefing on the status of those talks” before adding that “we should not reward Iran with sanctions relief before they demonstrate verifiable efforts towards curbing their malign influence holistically, including their nuclear ambitions, terrorism financing, and dual-use weapons development.”

Senator Manchin then informed Secretary Blinken that he was “particularly worried” about reports that Biden and Blinken are considering removing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from the State Department’s Foreign Terrorist Organization list. CIDI has been warning about this egregious foreign policy mistake for several weeks now.

“Let me be clear, the IRGC is a terrorist organization,” wrote Manchin, who noted that the administration should not consider this tactic as a means to relieve the “energy crisis” with Iranian oil. “We cannot and should not look to Iran to solve our energy problems.”

Manchin goes on to note that “we must halt the progress of Iran's nuclear weapons program,” and emphasizes that “we must continue to negotiate a halt to Iran's use of state-sponsored terrorism, advancement of its missile program, and the continued proliferation of dual-use technologies.”

It’s great news that a leading Democrat like Senator Manchin is willing to take a stand against Biden’s insane Iran Deal. But we need far more senators to take a stand.
