What the Afghanistan Pullout Means for Israel

After 9/11, America dedicated its military to tracking down the al-Qaida killers that destroyed 3,000 lives. Two decades later, Joe Biden has pulled our service men and women out of Afghanistan with the weakest exit strategy the U.S. has ever employed, leading to a rapid, near-complete Taliban takeover of the country.

How does this disastrous pullout impact Israel? Read on to learn more, but first, take a moment to fax the Senate to STOP THE IRAN DEAL! —Mat

A leopard cannot change its spots, a zebra cannot change its stripes and the Taliban has not changed its nature. Afghans are being told things will be different now that the Taliban has taken over, thanks to America’s failed withdrawal plan.

The Taliban is trying to present itself as “kinder and gentler” in the new “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.” But they are not to be believed.

Close to the capital’s airport where people are trying to escape, the Taliban is reportedly beating individuals with rifle butts and even golf equipment.

News video shows the Afghan people passing their babies and children to the front of the crowd outside the Kabul airport so the youngest among them might have a chance for evacuation and a better future.

And now a council of Islamic scholars will decide the role of women in the country, according to a senior Taliban leader. What will women be required to wear? Will they be educated? Will they be able to work outside the home? Will they be able to access basic health care?

During Taliban rule from 1996 to 2001, they stopped women from working and girls from going to school. A woman going out had to cover herself from head to toe with a burqa and had to be accompanied by a male relative. Those who dared break the rules were sometimes beaten in public by the religious police. Women also had extremely limited access to medical care.

Reports now indicate the Taliban are deliberately going door to door hunting for girls as young as 12 to become sex slaves or to be forced to marry Taliban fighters.

Afghani spirits are crushed. The people left behind are making comments like these:

“We are waiting for death. It may come today or maybe tomorrow.”

“The grace of God does not include us. Just ruin.”

People on the ground are attempting to help stranded Americans and Afghans who faithfully supported U.S. efforts in the country. But many of these civilians are being summarily executed by the Taliban, some by beheading. And we see no remorse for the way this was handled from Joe Biden and his administration.

So, what should Israel expect from Capitol Hill? The same administration guilty of cut-and-run behavior in Afghanistan isn’t helping us in the Middle East at large. Biden and his pro-Palestinian advisors want to resurrect the disastrous 2015 Iran Deal that will directly harm Israel.

Considering what happened in Afghanistan, should Israel count on America? I see no reason the Israeli people should count on the U.S. government.

Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now cautioning the current Lapid-Abbas-Bennett Israeli government to be ready to defend their own country and not expect America to help.

The former PM’s belief hasn’t changed on America’s Afghanistan policy through the years. Back in 2013, he foresaw what could happen and now has happened.

“An extremist Islamic regime has conquered Afghanistan and turned it into a terrorist state that threatens world peace,” Netanyahu writes in the Aug. 18 op-ed.

He said “the same misguided policy” used in Afghanistan is at work regarding Iran. “The international community is about to approve a dangerous agreement that would provide Iran—with their authorization—with an arsenal of nuclear weapons that are dedicated to our destruction.”

The result, says Bibi: “Iran is now charging full-speed toward the bomb.”

It doesn’t look good for Israel. The 2015 Iran Deal stalled for a while but is still on the table.

The “Butcher of Tehran”—Ebrahim Raisi—is in power as Iran’s new president. His rogue regime has attacked Gulf shipping and used its wholly owned terror army, Hezbollah, to hit Israel with a barrage of deadly rockets fired from Lebanon.

Tensions are extraordinarily high between Israel and Iran.

Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz says Israel is ready to strike Tehran. It’s already been two weeks since Gantz said Iran is just 10 weeks away from acquiring the materials needed for a nuclear bomb! Time is ticking away.

Israel needs our prayers! Let us pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Ask God to intervene and defeat Israel’s lethal enemies in Tehran and raise up true champions for Israel in Washington.

Please also make a generous gift to help CIDI fight for Israel at this crucial moment in the Middle East. We are thankful for your support on behalf of God’s chosen people, Israel!

God bless you as you stand with Israel,

Mat Staver, Chairman
Christians in Defense of Israel

P.S. Don't let Joe Biden and the Democrats sell Israel down the river. Fax the Senate now and DEMAND senators STOP THE IRAN DEAL!

P.P.S. Your generosity enables Christians in Defense of Israel to make a pro-Israel difference in the halls of power in Washington, D.C., the Middle East and throughout the world. Please stand with us to bless Israel by giving generously.
