Multiple sources are reporting that Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has died. While these reports have not been confirmed by the Iranian government, there are enough reports coming from credible middle eastern sources that the report is likely true.

The Jewish Press reports that the official death announcement will be made once all powers of the office can be transferred to the Ayatollah’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei… and that’s where the problem begins.

This new Ayatollah has all the hallmarks of being even worse than the last one. And that’s a BIG problem for Israel and the whole world… one that will need a LOT of prayer!

Here’s what we know about Iran’s “Ayatollah in Waiting...”

  • LEADS IRAN’S BASIJ GROUP: Mojtaba has long been known to be the true leader of the Iranian youth secret police who are charged with enforcing state control over society, policing morals, religious adherence and brutally cracking down on dissidents.
  • QUASHED IRANIAN SPRING:  Mojtaba was an outspoken leader in quashing the Iranian Spring in June 2009. During that time, Mojtaba led the crackdowns against anti-government protesters demonstrating for a return of the freedom that had once made Iran a relatively free and prosperous country.
  • ORCHESTRATED AHMADINEJAD’S ELECTORAL WIN:  Iranian Parliament leaders, including former Chairman Mehdi Karroubi, openly accused Mojtaba Khamenei of rigging the election.

Many had hoped that when Ayatollah Ali Khamenei left this earth, Iran could perhaps return once more to times of sanity and relative freedom. During the 1970s, Iran was a relatively free and beautiful place, filled with life, commerce and education...even education for women.

But since the Ayatollah and the associated hardline clerics took over, the country has receded into darkness. Once vibrant cityscapes are nearly absent of color and laughter, faces now covered and women only seen in burkas, escorted by men.

If Mojtaba’s actions, and his leadership of the Basij, are any indication, Iran is only going to get darker.

Already the Middle East is concerned about Iran’s increased sabre rattling, but many believe this new Ayatollah will radically increase threats and send the Middle East into war.

It’s been two weeks now, and I still cannot shake the dream I had about President Trump. This news of the Ayatollah has strengthened my conviction that the Lord wants us to intensely pray for President Trump. He has been the best friend of Israel and he has a lot on his plate.

As I wrote last week, in the dream I was standing on a street in the nation's capital and the president's limo passed close by. The window was down, and I spoke with him, saying I appreciated his work and was praying for him. I noticed that President Trump's face was downcast and sorrowful. I knew upon waking that the Lord was emphasizing that we must pray for our president.
