A Demand Letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer

Dear Madame Speaker and Leader Hoyer:

On Jan. 23, 2019, Rep. Lee Zeldin introduced H. Res. 72, "Rejecting anti-Israel and anti-Semitic hatred in the United States and around the world." Since that time, no action has been taken on this timely and important resolution.

That is why I am joining with other pro-Israel Americans in demanding a floor vote take place immediately on H. Res. 72.

I am concerned at the delay in bringing this resolution to a vote. While you, as House leaders, have taken no action to date on H. Res. 72, the House voted almost immediately on a similar measure. H. Res. 41, "Rejecting White nationalism and White supremacy," came to a full House floor vote the day after it was introduced.

It shouldn't be controversial to condemn anti-Semitism. Vicious and deadly anti-Semitism demands a response from all Americans. And most especially the U.S. House of Representatives.

When it comes to this issue, silence is not an option. You cannot ignore this problem--especially when members of your own Democratic caucus are linked to vicious anti-Semites like Louis Farrakhan or espouse ugly anti-Semitic smears.

I urge you to rise above partisan political considerations. Link arms across the aisle with your Republican colleagues and bring H. Res. 72 to an immediate vote in the U.S. House or Representatives.
