UN Near Bankruptcy
Congress should not bail out the UN
In October, U.N. Secretary General António Guterres declared that the United Nations is facing bankruptcy. The announcement included a list of severe cuts to the U.N. budget.
Much like Iran, the U.N. has been pushed back on its heels, and Congress absolutely should not prop up this feckless and disastrous organization with U.S. taxpayer dollars.
Right now, Congress is debating whether or not to dump yet more U.S. taxpayer dollars into this largely useless organization.
Guterres’ announcement admitted that 30% of U.N. members have refused to fund the U.N., including China, Russia, Mexico, and, of course, the United States — the U.N.’s biggest funder.
As a result, the U.N. had to slash its 2026 workforce by nearly 20%. Considering the number of U.N. employees who actively took part in Hamas’ October 7, 2023, massacre of Jews, these staff cuts are not a bad thing.
But the overall reality is that the United Nations has accomplished nothing in years. It allowed Iran to violate all previous nuclear deals by refusing to perform its duty to enforce those deals.
Worse yet, the international body has actively turned against Israel, the very nation the U.N.’s 1947 Palestine partition vote helped make possible. But instead of protecting the tiny nation surrounded by Islamic enemies that blatantly brag about seeking Israel’s destruction, the U.N. continues to attack the intended victim, Israel.
Worse yet, the U.N. elevates actual human rights and international law violators, including Iran, to positions of power within the organizaton — even putting Iran on U.N. women’s rights and anti-nuclear proliferation committees. The U.N. literally put the fox in charge of the hen houses. And we, the American people, as the largest funders of the U.N., helped foot the bill!
Enough is enough. Right now, Congress is debating whether to continue funding this bureaucratic, anti-Israel, and anti-American dinosaur. Let’s make sure U.S. lawmakers refuse to give one red cent to this antisemitic theater of the absurd in midtown Manhattan!
Fax Congress now and demand they DEFUND the U.N.!
