Sharia law tribunals are popping up across the country, and in some of the most unexpected places — like Texas, Illinois, and even right outside our nation's capital in Fairfax, VA.
American Muslim women, in particular, are losing rights, thanks to Islamic law implemented through Sharia tribunals acting as court-approved arbitration and dispute resolution practices — especially when it comes to divorce, domestic abuse, child custody, contracts, and financial settlements.

Under Sharia, women have no rights. Their testimony counts as nothing unless a man substantiates it. And even in cases of violent domestic abuse, Sharia generally requires the woman to stay with her abuser.
Sharia is WHOLLY UNCOMPATIBLE with U.S. law. But as America’s imported Muslim population continues to grow, so does Sharia’s influence on American jurisprudence.
In 2021, a U.S. judge in Collin County, Texas, ruled that Mariam Ayad, an American Muslim, must take her divorce case before a Sharia-governed tribunal instead of proceeding fully through the U.S. civil court system. The tribunal in question was a Fiqh panel governed by a Muslim group based in Saudi Arabia.
This judge forced an American citizen living in Texas to forgo her U.S. legal rights and instead be governed by a religious tribunal based in another country!
Miriam isn’t Sharia’s only victim here. And she won’t be the last, unless we get Congress to pass the “Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act” NOW!
