GOP Rift Developing Over Iran Intervention
Should Trump Take Military Action Against Iran?
Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that President Trump will make a decision within the next two weeks on whether to take U.S. military action in Iran.
"I'm not looking to fight. But if it's a choice between them fighting or having a nuclear weapon, you have to do what you have to do," President Trump told reporters.
Should the U.S. Military Intervene Against Iran?
Historically, President Trump has been cautious about foreign intervention. While Trump has always supported our troops, he has also been steadfastly against the endless foreign wars instigated by former President George Bush, which continued through the next four administrations.
But Iran’s progress in developing nuclear weapons right under Joe Biden’s nose presents a clear and present danger that no Israeli or American can ignore.
Iran is, after all, the nation that steadfastly maintains that it intends to wipe both Israel and the U.S. off the map.
If Iran was allowed to finish its nuclear weapons, it would be “game over” for both the Jewish state and the U.S.
Sadly, the Ayatollah’s ideology is based on the sick theory that the more infidels are killed, the bigger his crown will be in heaven. He and his followers have no restraint for life. In fact, they prefer death because they believe it brings them glory.
But some Republicans are concerned over the prospect of U.S. involvement in this conflict.
“For decades, we’ve watched our men and women in uniform go all over the world and fight in wars that most Americans don’t think that our country should have been in,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told reporters last week. “Americans are very sick and tired of that.”
“Many times in the past when we were told that we need to support foreign wars, I can easily look at family members and people I know who came home forever changed and injured from serving in foreign wars,” Greene continued, referencing the 20 years American troops spent on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan following what was supposed to be a short “shock and awe” attack.
"We are sick and tired of foreign wars. All of them,” Rep. Greene said in a separate social media post.
VP Vance’s words of wisdom
"People are right to be worried about foreign entanglement after the last 25 years of idiotic foreign policy,” Vice President J.D. Vance announced on social media. “But I believe the president has earned some trust on this issue," hinting that any action in Iran might be short term.
