Qatar Is A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

Thanks to you, I had the high honor in early February of meeting personally with Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu at the Blair House in Washington, D.C.

At this private meeting — which included 15 pro-Israel evangelical leaders — PM Netanyahu stressed how grateful he is for the support of Christians like you.

But the PM also expressed a special concern. A key culprit delaying the return of the hostages to Israel, he emphasized, is the oil-rich monarchy Qatar.

Qatar has given more than 1.5 billion dollars to Hamas. It hosted Hamas leaders who lived in luxury in Doha, Qatar’s capital. Yet it refused to pressure Hamas to return the hostages. Had it done so, Netanyahu insisted, the hostages would all be home by now.

Qatar is the culprit. But that, it seems, is not the White House’s view.

Instead, Qatar is doing “God’s work,” President Trump’s Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff declared in January.

Witkoff praised Qatar for its role in reaching a lopsided deal to release 33 innocent Israelis held by Hamas while springing more than 1,900 Palestinians — convicted terrorists and Hamas militants — out of Israeli prisons.

President Donald Trump also praises Qatar. After meeting its top ruler, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, last summer at Mar-a-Lago, Trump termed him a “great and powerful leader ... someone also who strongly wants peace in the Middle East, and all over the world.”

But Middle East expert Daniel Pipes asserts Qatar is “one of the world's smallest, richest, most powerful, and most sinister states.” A researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs brands Qatar “the source of evil in the Middle East.”

President Trump once agreed with these experts. In his first term, Trump scorched Qatar, saying, “it has historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level.”

Qatar is not our ally ...

For that reason, friends of Israel like you and me need to speak out now and call on the president to punish this wily, double-dealing adversary for its two-faced game aimed at destroying Israel and the U.S.

Will you join me in calling on Congress and the Trump administration to impose stiff economic sanctions and more on Qatar? Fabulously wealthy, Qatar rakes in 221 billion dollars annually in oil and gas revenue and spreads the wealth as a leading state sponsor of terror.

Sanction Qatar!

Prime Minister Netanyahu also wanted me to thank YOU for loving and blessing Israel in the spirit of Genesis 12:3, as a faithful Christians in Defense of Israel supporter. He said one of the best ways to help Israel is to reach the youth. I thanked him for meeting with me in June 2011, as we launched our Israel programs.

Our Covenant Journey ministry has brought thousands of people to Israel, especially college students.

Your staunch defense of the world’s only Jewish state — especially since Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas savages murdered more than 1,200 Israelis and took some 250 hostages — is recognized and enormously appreciated in Israel.

Please help us continue this God honoring, Israel supporting work with a special gift to support our ministry.

As of this writing, we remain $3,643 short of our February budget. Will you help us make up the shortfall? When you give, you help send a message to Washington, D.C., that Americans stand with the Jewish state — and staunchly reject attempts to undermine it.

May God bless you for standing with Israel as He emphasizes in Genesis 12:3!
