After Jordan declared war on the modern Jewish state in 1948, Arabs changed the 4,000-year-old name of the area they attacked in an attempt to eradicate Jewish history and claim the land for their own.

Suddenly, the millennia-old “Judea” and “Samaria” became “The West Bank.”

Sadly, the U.S. government has chosen to ignore longstanding, well-documented history to adopt the Arab moniker.

But a movement has launched to demand “truth in labeling” when it comes to the ancient land where Jesus walked and where so much biblical history took place.

Here’s what has happened so far ...

First, the world’s largest association of Christian communicators, the National Religious Broadcasters, passed a resolution in February urging NRB members to use the term, “Judea and Samaria,” and not the politicized pro-Palestinian label “West Bank.”

Second, U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney introduced HR 7552, the “RECOGNIZING Judea and Samaria Act.” This bill requires all official U.S. documents and materials to use "Judea and Samaria" instead of "West Bank.”

Rep. Tenney’s bill is an urgently needed and powerful tool to reframe the Israel-Palestinian debate. The bill’s mandate to use the accurate term, “Judea and Samaria” — not the propagandistic alternative “West Bank” — puts a spotlight on the undeniable Jewish claim to this land God gave to Abraham and his descendants 4,000 years ago.

If passed, this bill will force a dramatic shift in this debate.
