Apparently, under the Biden administration, 1.2 billion dollars a head is the going rate for hostage.

Early this summer, we heard whispers around Washington that the Biden administration might be working behind the scenes on a secret deal with the Iranians. But Biden’s lead Iran negotiator recently lost his classified clearance, and those around the White House went mum.

Now we know why.

As recently as July, the White House vigorously denied it was working on a secret back-door deal with Iran.

That was a LIE.

The Biden administration agreed to give Iran 6 billion dollars, sanctions that had been frozen in response to Iran’s many previous violations of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or “Iran Nuclear Deal”). The funds were transferred to an account at the central bank of Qatar.

Meanwhile, Congress was left in the dark.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee ranking member Jim Risch (R-ID) took to social media to condemn the administration’s actions:

"While I welcome home wrongfully detained Americans, unfreezing $6B in [Iranian] assets dangerously further incentivizes hostage taking [and] provides a windfall for regime aggression," Rep. Risch said.

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) concurred:

"The U.S. government should NEVER negotiate with terrorists, let alone fund them,” Rep. Tenney said. “Now, the Biden administration is giving the Iranian mullahs $6 billion to finance terrorism and oppression of the Iranian people."

Worse yet, the prisoners don’t even get to come home to the U.S. They just get to be on house arrest in Tehran while Iran continues to negotiate for more.

And it now appears likely that the Biden administration is going to give the tyrants of Tehran access to yet another 10 billion dollars in frozen assets plus the release of five top terrorists!

In a statement released on the matter, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) wrote:

"These are only the barest outlines of the staggering concessions that Biden has already made and intends to make to the Ayatollah, including an additional $10 billion transfer and indeed hundreds of billions of dollars by not enforcing oil sanctions. Meanwhile, he has allowed the Iranian regime to all but acquire a virtual nuclear arsenal over the last two and a half years."
