Just days before Israeli President Isaac Herzog was scheduled to address the U.S. Congress, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) told a group of Palestinian protesters that “Israel is a racist state.”

Facing pressure from Jewish colleagues, Jayapal was forced to issue an apology that wasn’t an apology at all. “I do not believe the idea of Israel as a nation is racist,” she said before launching into a laundry list of reasons why she believes the government of Israel is racist.

In May of this year, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) told podcast listeners, “There’s kind of a calming feeling I always tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust,” as she repeated the historically false claim that Arabs were forced from their homes to make way for post-WWII Jewish immigrants.

In February 2022, while addressing the Democratic Socialists of America convention, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) suggested that Israel keeps Palestinian children in cages.

With America’s elected “leaders” engaging in active and open antisemitism, is it any wonder that Jewish institutions in America are now under physical attack?

Four young men were arrested in Pensacola, Florida, recently after a two-week anti-Jewish hate spree. The young men targeted and attacked eight Jewish synagogues, community centers, and Jewish-owned properties.

The men defaced the synagogues, spray-painting Nazi symbols and propaganda on buildings while hurling bricks through one synagogue’s towering stained-glass windows.

These attacks are becoming more frequent even in smaller cities like Pensacola, said one Jewish community member who asked not to be named for security purposes. Her own children were targeted with Nazi symbols painted on their lockers at their South Florida high school.

“What can you expect when even politicians spew hate,” she said.

Israel and the entire Jewish diaspora have few friends. That’s why Christians in Defense of Israel exists — to stand sentinel in the defense of Israel and her people.

Now is the time for you and me, as Bible-believing Christians, to stand with and pray for the Jewish people — and to make our voice heard in Washington.
