We Can Get This Pro-Israel Bill Passed If...
When it comes to BDS, (the racist movement to “Boycott, Divest, and Sanction” Israel), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is right. He says that BDS is just a “reinvented form of anti-Semitism.” BDS advocates tout the campaign’s commitment to justice, but its ugly racism leaks out in their words and deeds.
Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs has documented some 80 examples of blatant antisemitism by prominent BDS activists or organizations. The list includes:
-
Calls for Jews to “go back to the ovens!”
-
Accusations that Israel poisons water supplies.
-
Charges of a global “Jewish lobby.”
-
Equating Nazi Germany and Israel.
-
Calls for the destruction of the Jewish state.
-
Depictions of Jews as pigs, octopuses, and having big noses.
And far from being “nonviolent,” BDS is tied to terrorism. The Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs identified more than 100 links between BDS groups and terrorists — especially Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Let me give you a few examples:
-
Laila Khaled. A terrorist who hijacked TWA Flight 840 in 1969, she has also raised funds for BDS. Khaled declared last year that “Palestine will be liberated through resistance in all forms, first and foremost by the armed struggle.”
-
Joe Catron. The U.S. coordinator for the group Samidoun and a leading promoter of BDS, Catron is a fan of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Catron tweeted: “Nasrallah my friend, attack, attack Tel Aviv.”
-
Ismail Radwan. A Hamas leader, Radwan is linked to the BDS National Committee, the umbrella group for the global BDS campaign. A vicious bigot, Radwan calls Jews “apes and pigs.”
All this is why German legislators passed a resolution last year labeling the BDS movement antisemitic. And why France already has a strong anti-BDS law.
I believe this latest anti-BDS act WILL pass if brought to the floor for a vote. We must pressure Congress immediately to stand with Israel against the economic warfare being conducted by her enemies.
Please take a moment right now to sign our petition and fax Congress. Tell them VOTE YES on S 1637!
