The Temple Mount is a holy place filled with Jewish history. It is the site, as Moses said, “ … that the LORD your God will choose out of all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there” (Deuteronomy 12:5).

It’s the site of Mt. Moriah, the place where God intervened to stop Abraham from offering Isaac, providing a ram instead. It’s where Solomon dedicated the first Temple, where God’s glory came down and overpowered the priests performing their ceremonial duties.

“The Temple Mount is the most important place for the people of Israel,” Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said after he took a brief walk on the site, which provoked outrage throughout the Islamic world.

This holy site is “the center of our universe,” Israel’s ambassador to the U.N. recently told the Security Council.

Biden’s support of the “status quo” governing the Temple Mount is even more outrageous when one realizes these rules are based on Islamic law, which subjugates non-Muslims with burdensome rules not applied to Muslims.

Just last month, the Biden administration made it clear that it opposes Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount. A State Department spokesman called that “unacceptable.” He said Team Biden will oppose any violation of the “historic status quo” giving Muslims — and not Jews or Christians — freedom to pray on the Temple Mount.
