Desperate to keep former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from putting a stop to his scheme to give Israel to the Palestinians, Joe Biden tried to pull a fast one last week.

In a blatant attempt to swing the Israeli election victory away from Netanyahu, Biden cajoled weak-kneed Acting Prime Minister Yair Lapid to sign a deal that gives much of Israel’s sovereign waters to Hezbollah controlled Lebanon.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman decried the deal on social media, saying the deal is “100% to Lebanon and 0% to Israel.”

In the deal, Israel gives Lebanon 324 square miles—an area some 20 times larger than greater Tel Aviv—and access to a natural gas field potentially worth billions.

In return for this great sacrifice, Biden gave Israel a non-binding letter promising that the U.S. will defend Israel’s security and economic rights if a conflict erupts with Hezbollah.

But the letter has no legal weight, and like most of Joe Biden’s promises, it is worthless.

That is reprehensible and wrong. But here’s what I find extremely alarming: This accord also gives Hezbollah, a military power which calls Israel its “hated enemy,” billions in potential natural gas wealth.

All this stinks to high heaven—which is why you and I, as friends of Israel, must demand that the new Congress FULLY investigate Joe Biden and this dangerous deal.

“I am deeply troubled that Biden officials pressured our Israeli allies to hand over their territory to the Iran-controlled terrorist group Hezbollah” Sen. Ted Cruz declared.

Cruz added that Biden’s role in Israel’s giveaway to Lebanon is “another topic for the next Republican Congress to investigate.”
