“As a matter of law and principle, the state of Florida will not tolerate discrimination against the state of Israel or the Israeli people,” said Gov. Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, in a press release issued earlier this week. “I will not stand idly by as woke corporate ideologues seek to boycott and divest from our ally, Israel.”

FL Gov. DeSantis’ action marks the first of the states to enact and enforce anti-BDS laws already on the books.

Florida’s State Board of Administration put the parent company of Ben & Jerry’s, Unilever, on its “scrutinized list” of companies that participate in BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction Israel) activities. Unilever now has 90 days to reverse its anti-Israel policies—or Florida will cut off all investments and contracts to ALL Unilever brands.

Unilever’s 400 brands include household names like Hellmann’s mayo, Lipton tea, Dove soap and of course, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

But while Unilever is a massive company, Gov. DeSantis’ Florida is a massive economy in its own right.

Florida has the fourth-largest economy in the United States and the 20th- largest economy in the entire world. Therefore, enforcement of Florida’s anti-BDS laws will take a chunk out of Unilever’s bottom line!

FL Gov. DeSantis’ action is a MAJOR win—but we must compel the rest of the states to act NOW to protect Israel before it is too late!

We need more states to protect Israel ...
