Founded by two hippies, Ben & Jerry’s has a friendly, homespun image. Its advertising sports peace signs and old Volkswagen vans. It uses the slogan “Peace, Love and Ice Cream.”
But in reality, it's a worldwide brand sold in some 38 nations with total sales topping 1 billion dollars. That gives the brand global clout, which it is using to spread the "idea that Israel is a colonialist, brutal oppressor," said Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein of the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
