Unfortunately for Ms. Scales, the event did not go well, as online attendees peppered the activist leader with questions about BLM’s shady finances and radical anti-Semitic actions.

Scales was blasted for giving vague answers -- or avoiding questions altogether -- which would have required her to divulge just how, exactly, BLM spends its money. But what really turned the crowd against Scales was her overt LIE about BLM’s consistent pattern of anti-Semitic racism.

Scales tried to sidestep questions with yet more vague answers, until one attendee gave specific, concrete examples of anti-Semitic statements and actions by the supposedly anti-racist group...

“Your organization has been accused of anti-Semitism both by its members, it’s alliances, and its reverence for avowed Jew haters. For example, the myth that Jews were involved in the slave trade seems to be particularly pervasive and pernicious and is entirely fabricated by the Nation of Islam. Jews on the streets of Brooklyn have been repeatedly targeted by black citizens in violent crimes. BLM has turned a blind eye to antisemitism in its support of the Palestinian cause, a cause in no way related to black equality in the United States.

It should be obvious that equality for black people cannot be achieved through bigotry and subjugation of another oppressed group. What are you doing to fight bigotry within BLM?”

Scales’ response was a brazen lie.

“I am not sure where you receive your information” said Scales, “but BLM is a political home for all those marginalized, invisible, and oppressed by the dominant culture,” she said. “We do not support or express hate speech or bias of any kind.”

Never mind that Jews from Brooklyn to Los Angeles have been harassed and brutalized by BLM members, a fact widely reported even in the mainstream media. Never mind that kosher stores, synagogues and schools were smashed and looted, with “F*** Jews, Black Lives Matter” spray-painted across the wreckage BLM activists left in the Jewish Fairfax neighborhood of Los Angeles.

And never mind the appalling painting featuring archaic anti-Jewish stereotypes that BLM Oxford used to advertise its marches. And forget that multiple national BLM leaders have repeatedly condemned Israel in writing or in words, have praised rabid anti-Semites like Louis Farrakhan or praised Arabs who say they want Israel wiped from the face of the earth.

Finally, just forget that all these obvious examples of BLM’s hatred for Jews are easily found with a simple internet search, through which pictures and videos tell the true tale of BLM’s anti-Semitic actions.

Like an abuser telling a victim not to believe their own eyes, BLM’s Managing Director wants you to believe those pictures, videos and recordings of BLM bashing and abusing Jews are not there.

Perhaps Ms. Scales just assumed the media black-out hiding BLM’s hate crimes against American Jews would cover her lie.

She was wrong.
