Bernie Sanders: Cut Aid to "Racist" Israel
I’m about to rush our crucial “Don’t Cut U.S. Aid to Israel!” petition to Washington. Thousands have already signed. If you haven’t already done so, please act now.
And because Israel is under constant assault—even from members of Congress as I share below—your generosity now is crucial. Please give today to fight back against the enemies of Israel —and to bless and defend the Jewish state. Thank you! –Mat.
Presidential contender Bernie Sanders is ready to cut Israel’s lifeline—U.S. aid to Israel. Sanders, who is Jewish but a bitter critic of Israel, declared recently . . .
“The United States government gives a whole lot of money to Israel, and I think we can leverage that money to end some of the racism that we have recently seen in Israel.”
Racism?
The fact is Israel gives full citizenship rights to Arabs. Life in Israel is better for Arabs than anywhere else in the Middle East.
But neighbor Jordan, which gets $1.2 billion annually from American taxpayers, denies citizenship to Jews. It even prohibits Jewish people from owning property in the Muslim Arab nation.
Yet Sanders isn’t blasting “apartheid Jordan” or threatening it with cuts in U.S. aid.
And he certainly won’t issue that threat when he speaks Saturday to some 30,000 Muslims at a conference hosted by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group linked to the radical Muslim Brotherhood.
+ + More voices call for cutting aid
U.S. defense aid to Israel is crucial to Israel’s ability to defend itself against enemies like Iran, which seek to “annihilate” the world’s one and only Jewish state. Yet Sanders—now tied for the lead in the Democratic presidential primary race—is not alone in his readiness to slash U.S. support for the Jewish state.
Rep. Ilhan Omar, the Israel-hating Muslim House member from Minnesota, said last week that Israel must “Stop the expansion of settlements on Palestinian land and ensure full rights for Palestinians if we are going to give them aid.”
And it gets worse. Along with Sanders and Omar, these other Democrats are willing to punish Israel by denying aid, too . . .
- New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) says cutting aid to Israel is "certainly on the table."
- Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) is “absolutely” willing to cut U.S. aid to Israel where, she charges, “Racism and the politics of hate is thriving.”
- Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis), the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus—a powerful block of about 100 House Democrats—is also open to betraying America’s best friend by cutting defense aid critical to Israel's survival.
This is chilling—and you and I must respond! In just a few days, we’ll be sending our critical “Don’t Cut U.S. Aid to Israel” petition to key House and Senate leaders.
If you haven’t already signed it, will you please do so now?
This crucial petition reaffirms our strong support for American aid to Israel. It states unequivocally that we stand by Israel and fiercely oppose the vicious demonization of the world's one and only Jewish state from Omar, Tlaib, Sanders, AOC and more.
But time is short. I want to gather many thousands of signatures and have this petition waiting for House and Senate leaders when they return from recess on September 3.
