Note to Rashida: Checkpoints Save Lives

Muslim congresswoman Ilhan Omar put U.S. aid to Israel on the chopping block Monday. And she’s not alone, as I share below. That’s why you and I MUST send an immediate message to leaders in Congress: “Don’t Cut U.S. Aid to Israel!” Sign the petition now and read below about Omar and Rashida Tlaib, the Israel-hating duo becoming the new face of the Democrat Party in America. —Mat

Democratic congresswoman Rashida Tlaib teared up Monday at the memory of how “my mother had to go through dehumanizing checkpoints” while visiting “Palestine.”

But Tlaib's tears don't come close to the sharp grief inflicted on Frimet Roth. Her 15-year-old daughter was murdered in a Jerusalem terror attack in 2001 that killed another 14 civilians.

“Rep Tlaib cried about her mother being ‘dehumanized’ at Israeli checkpoints,” Roth tweeted yesterday. “My child Malki, a US citizen murdered at 15, would be here today had a checkpoint stopped her murderer and a 10 kg bomb from entering Jerusalem.”

Roth added: “Remind Tlaib: Checkpoints prevent terrorism — save lives.”

But don’t expect Tlaib to condemn Palestinian terror attacks on Israelis—or to aim her poisonous barbs at the Palestinian Authority which paid out more than $300 million to reward terrorists who maimed and murdered innocent Israelis.

Tlaib, like fellow Muslim, Rep. Ilhan Omar, saves her caustic attacks for Israel—the Middle East’s only democracy and the world’s one and only Jewish state.

A chronic Israel-basher, Tlaib celebrated her election last year with a Palestinian flag draped over her shoulders. Her Palestinian relatives in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) were “absolutely proud” of her victory, she told HuffPost. “I’m going to be a voice for them.”

Tlaib joined Omar Monday in blasting Israel for its fully justified decision to deny them entry last week. In their press conference, the two attacked Israel for its alleged "occupation" of "Palestinian land," comparing it to apartheid South Africa.

+ + Israel-hating duo ready to cut aid to Israel

Omar, who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and backs the anti-Semitic BDS movement, made it clear she's ready to cut Israel's lifeline--U.S. financial aid.

And so is Tlaib who "absolutely" wants to slash American defense aid to Israel, as she said last year.

But here's what's even worse. The leader of the ultra-liberal Congressional Progressive Caucus--a block of about 100 radical House Democrats--also thinks U.S. aid to Israel should be reconsidered.

You and I must respond! Would you join me in a flash petition to key House and Senate leaders?

This crucial "Don't Cut U.S. Aid to Israel!" petition reaffirms our strong support for American aid to Israel. It states unequivocally that we stand by Israel and fiercely oppose Omar and Tlaib's vicious demonization of the world's one and only Jewish state.

I want to gather many thousands of signatures and have this petition waiting for House and Senate leaders when they return from recess on September 3.

+  +  Omar's abject ignorance

In her press conference yesterday, Omar displayed her abject ignorance of Israel's long history of “land for peace” offers--all of which Palestinian leaders have rejected.

Instead, Omar put all the blame on Israel for the Israel/Palestinian conflict. She charged, "they [Israel] maintain the occupation and prevent a solution to the conflict."

For that reason, Omar said, U.S. aid to Israel--its lifeline in the midst of blood-thirsty enemies--should be put on the chopping block.

“We give Israel more than $3 billion in aid every year . . . the only 'democracy in the Middle East,'” Omar said, gesturing quote marks to show her contempt for that last claim.

And then Omar put in the knife.

"We must be asking the Netanyahu government: Stop the expansion of settlements on Palestinian land and ensure full rights for Palestinians if we are going to give them aid."

The co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus--a block of about 100 House Democrats--agrees with Omar. "I think we're going to have to have some serious conversations even about financial support," Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis) told The Hill.

Frankly, all this is chilling.

House Democrats openly talk about cutting aid to Israel after it refuses to let two House members who are open enemies of the Jewish state stage a propaganda tour of what they call "Palestine"!

And that's why I invite you to immediately sign our "Don't Cut U.S. Aid to Israel!" petition. It's important that House and Senate leaders know right away where you and I stand.

As you respond, would you prayerfully consider a gift today to Christians in Defense of Israel?

Your much-needed generosity and your prayers fuel this powerful outreach to bless and defend the Jewish state. With your help, we're advocates for Israel on Capitol Hill, across America and in Israel itself where we lead transformational visits to the Holy Land through our allied ministry, Covenant Journey.

But we can’t do it without you. Please consider a gift today.

And as you sign and give, I want to send you a very special gift--one that answers the lies in which Israel-haters like Omar and Tlaib traffic.

Please sign the petition and make your gift today!

Thank you for your heart for Israel and for partnering with CIDI now to make our voice heard!
