Holy Hutzpah Like You've Rarely Seen...
The United Nations is one of the most anti-Semitic places on earth. But UN bigotry didn't stop Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, from standing up to the hostile audience.
In April, the Ambassador came before the UN Security Council to lay out the basis for the Jewish state's claim to the land of Israel—all of it.
And he began with God's Word.
Grabbing a Bible and donning his yarmulke, the Ambassador read, first in Hebrew and then in English, God's promise to Abraham made 4,000 years ago:
"And I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, all the land of Cana'an, for an everlasting possession."
Then, closing the Bible and holding it aloft, Danon told the most powerful nations on earth: “This is the deed to our land.”
I call that "holy hutzpah!"
+ + God's Word trumps man's plans
Speaking on the world's most visible diplomatic stage, the Israeli Ambassador announced that the promises of God trump the plans and will of men.
The fate of Israel and control of the Promised Land may be debated by men, but it has already been declared by God. And today, those of us who believe His Word must take our stand in defense of His chosen people before it is too late!
This promise includes what some call the “West Bank,” but which has been known for ages as Judea and Samaria—Israel's biblical heartland. And the land of Israel most certainly includes its capital, Jerusalem, the city King David conquered 3,000 years ago.
The nations of the world—including the UN—want to divide up the land God gave Israel. That’s the idea behind the so-called two-state solution. But as Ambassador Danon declared at the UN, Almighty God told Abraham, the father of Israel,
"The whole land of Canaan . . . I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants" (Genesis 17:8 NIV).
Despite the UN, the ownership and control of Israel is not up for a vote. God has spoken, and His will and purpose are unchanging and eternal, just as He is.
The Jewish people are the rightful heirs of their land, and yet every so-called "peace plan" demands that they make concessions to adversaries who want them destroyed . . . giving up the land of Divine promise in exchange for empty human promises of peace.
It is time for you and me to take an unwavering stand for Israel! And that's especially true now as we await the much-discussed but not-yet seen White House peace plan.
Too many in places like Washington, London, Paris and Moscow think they can carve up the land God promised Israel to make peace . . . but you and I know better. And we need to do something about it.
+ + Tell Israelis you stand with them!
We have produced a “Land Deed” recognizing the Divine decree granting the land of Israel to the Jewish people as an eternal possession.
I'm asking you to sign this declaration of support so that Prime Minister Netanyahu and the people of Israel know that you stand with them. The pressure they are under right now is enormous. They desperately need to hear from friends like you.
And that's especially true now because the much-awaited White House peace plan may be released soon. The plan will include a push, we’re told, for “tough compromises.” And that could mean pressing Israel to give up land.
By signing the "Land Deed," you're telling the Prime Minister and the Israeli people that you support Israel's inalienable claim to the land—all of it.
Christians in Defense of Israel is only able to be such a powerful and effective voice for God's chosen people because of the help of friends like you. That is why I am asking you to make a gift as you sign the “Land Deed” today.
When you stand in defense of Israel, you fulfill the conditions of the promise of Genesis 12:3. You will be blessed—and so will your family and our nation.
Please let us hear from you today. The need is great, and we must not fail to respond!
Together for Israel,
Mat Staver
Chairman
P.S. God has promised blessings to those who bless the Jewish people, and those promises, like His promises for the future of the land, are certain and sure. Please sign the "Land Deed" declaration of support and give a generous gift today.
