Trump's move--which Christians in Defense of Israel has long advocated and called for in a special petition last week--is critically important and overdue. Yet it's not set in stone, as I'll share in a moment.

But first, here's why this decision is so needed and so welcome.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical Islamic organization active in 80 nations. It is pledged to Israel's destruction and has, in its own words, declared "grand jihad" against America. It wants to make "Allah's religion...victorious over all other religions."

And violence is part of its plan. The Brotherhood's own creed invokes both jihad and death.

Plus, it's the parent organization of the terror group Hamas. Muslim Brotherhood alumni include terrorists like al Qaeda head Ayman al-Zawahiri, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and 9/11 hijacker Mohammad Atta.

+  +  The Washington Establishment pushes back. . .

Despite the facts, the Washington Establishment is aghast at Trump's decision and is pushing back hard. The Establishment--with its media allies--quickly counterattacked this week, issuing dire warnings about catastrophic fallout from the Trump move.

Which is why I'm asking you to join me in calling on the President to ignore the critics and press ahead to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

Take a look at the chorus of naysayers who have quickly gained press coverage...

• CNN carried an opinion piece warning that Trump's effort "threatens to plunge America and much of the world that may still aspire to a peaceful and democratic Middle East into another spiral of hatred and division."

• Huffpost cited so-called experts who warned Trump's move "would greatly complicate American diplomacy in the Middle East, fuel extremism and lead to the persecution of Muslim groups in the U.S."

• A former counterterrorism coordinator at the State Department charged Trump is acting for political reasons. "It's malpractice and ultimately dangerous," he tweeted.

And resistance is coming from within the Trump administration, too. His "proposal has prompted fierce debate within the administration, including at a senior-level meeting of policymakers from various departments," the New York Times reported Tuesday, citing "unnamed officials."

President Trump's decision to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group is not a done deal. And it could be derailed. That already happened in 2017 when a similar administration effort floundered.

The Washington Establishment thinks the Muslim Brotherhood is "largely secular" and has "eschewed violence." That's what then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told Congress in 2011.

Clapper insisted "there is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally."

Here's the truth--and we have it from the Muslim Brotherhood's own "supreme leader"--Mohammed Mahdi Akef.

He told a London-based international Arab newspaper in 2005 that "the Muslim Brotherhood is a global movement whose members cooperate with each other throughout the world, based on the same religious worldview - the spread of Islam until it rules the world."
