UN Slams Israel with Absurd Charge
The UN did today what it does best: condemn Israel. This time over the Golan Heights.
The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) accused Israel of depositing radioactive nuclear waste in the Golan Heights--the strategic highlands that stretch some 40 miles along Israel's northeast border.
It's an absurd charge and Israel quickly dismissed it as "utter nonsense." But it displays why President Trump must side with Israel and act immediately to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan.

You can help persuade him to do so by signing our "Recognize the Golan Heights Now!" petition!
Bi-partisan support for American recognition of Israel's claim to the Golan is growing--and your voice needs to be heard now.
In its so-called "report," the UN human rights panel didn't bother to cite actual evidence for its fact-starved charge. Instead, it just passed along a long-standing Syrian allegation:
"The Syrian Arab Republic noted that Israel continued to bury nuclear waste with radioactive content in 20 different areas populated by Syrian citizens of the occupied Syrian Golan, particularly in the vicinity of Al-Sheikh Mountain [Mt. Hermon],"
An Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman rejected the UN assault as just "another false report from the UNHRC which specializes in attacking Israel," as the Jerusalem Post reported.
+ + + UN Attacks Israel's Claim to the Golan
But the UN Human Rights Council report, issued from the office of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, also attacked Israeli sovereignty over the Golan--an elevated plateau that serves as a natural barrier against invasion from Syria or Iran.
The report called Israeli rule on the "occupied Syrian Golan . . . null and void and without international legal effect." And it "demanded that Israel rescind forthwith it decision."
That's just another in a long line of UN statements and resolutions condemning Israeli control of the Golan Heights, which it captured after Syria invaded the Jewish state in 1967.
Israel annexed, that is, applied its legal authority to the Golan in 1981. That same year the UN Security Council condemned Israel's action in a resolution supported, I'm sorry to say, by the U.S.
+ + + Long-Past Time for the U.S. to Act
And it's time--long past time, in fact--for the U.S. to reverse course and stand with its ally, Israel. The U.S. can do that by declaring its full and unequivocal support for Israel's just and lawful claim by the Golan Heights.
But that won't happen without the voice of friends of Israel like you!
That's why I'm asking you to join me right now in urging President Trump to recognize the Golan Heights as Israeli territory.
