Syria Talks Tough to Israel

You’ll be amazed to learn the U.S. is on Syria’s side when it comes to the Golan Heights—a strip of rocky highlands crucial to Israel’s survival. Which is why I’m asking you to join me in petitioning the President to stand with our ally, Israel, and recognize the Jewish state’s sovereign claim to this strategic territory. Fresh details below. –Mat.

Syria is spoiling for a fight. With its seven-year civil war almost over, Syria's evil Assad regime is talking tough to Israel.

“Just as we liberated southern Syria from terrorists, we are determined to liberate fully the occupied Syrian Golan,” Syria's foreign minister told the UN last fall.

That means war to seize Israel's Golan Heights—a strategic plateau on the Jewish state's northeast border.

Syria's ambassador to the UN repeated the threat last November, leaving no doubt as to its meaning: “We will regain the Golan, by peace or by war. This is our message to Israel.”

This is reason alone for the U.S. to correct a foreign policy blunder stretching back decades. Ever since 1967, the U.S. has refused to recognize Israel’s rightful claim to the Golan. Instead, American diplomats join the world in calling the Golan “Israeli-occupied territory”!

It’s time for this to end! And you can help make it happen by signing our special "Recognize the Golan Heights Now!" petition to President Trump.

To sign the petition, CLICK HERE NOW.

Syria had the Golan Heights in 1967 when it invaded Israel, in a bid to destroy the Jewish state. But courageous Israeli soldiers fought hard. With God's help they defeated the invasion and seized the Golan in a brilliant six-day defensive war.

But ever since then the U.S., along with Syria and the rest of the world, has deemed this 40-mile stretch of rocky highlands to be "Israeli-occupied territory."

And now Syria wants it back.

But the truth is the Golan Heights belongs to Israel as a matter of international law. That's because it is territory taken in a defensive war against an unprovoked invader.

It's also crucial to Israel's survival.

Ranging in elevation from 1,000 to 3,000 feet, the Golan is a formidable natural barrier to Syrian aggression. Because of it, Israel had the "strategic depth" to defeat a second Syrian invasion during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

Despite all this, the U.S. refuses to recognize the Golan as Israel's sovereign territory.

I say it’s time for that to change--and I'm inviting you to join me now.

Just as the Trump administration recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital last year--overturning decades of misguided American policy--it's time for the President to recognize Israel's Golan Heights as the sovereign territory of the Jewish state.

Which is why I'm asking you to sign a special "Recognize the Golan Heights Now!" petition to President Trump.

To sign the petition, CLICK HERE NOW.

When you respond, I'll rush your signed petition, with others, to the White House and the attention of President Trump.

Please respond right away. This is about Israel's very survival.

If not for the Golan Heights, Syrian tanks would have roared into Israel's heartland in 1973 and reached Tel Aviv in mere hours. Instead, the Golan is a place today of orchards, wineries, farms, even cattle ranches.

You and I need to help ensure that never changes. That’s why I ask you to sign the Recognize the Golan Heights Now! petition right away. As you do, please make your gift to Christians in Defense of Israel.

It's wrong that the U.S. has failed, since 1967, to recognize the Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory. And that must change now!

You can help make it happen by signing our petition today!

And please consider a gift as well. Your support of whatever amount now is much needed to strengthen and advance everything we do to defend Israel in the days ahead.

Thank you for your friendship and for standing with me in defense of Israel!

Sincerely,

Mat Staver
Chairman
