Press Release: Two-Year Anniversary of October 7: Israel “Will Never Stand Alone”
ORLANDO, FL – Today marks the second anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023, which was a day of unthinkable horror and heartbreak that forever changed the Jewish nation and the world.
On that day, merciless Hamas terrorists and Islamic Palestinians from Gaza launched a brutal invasion of Israel murdering more than 1,200 innocent people and taking more than 250 hostages into Gaza. It was the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Currently, Hamas continues to hold hostages captive, some living and some of them deceased.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated that an additional 1,152 courageous Israeli soldiers and security personnel, including U.S. citizens, have fallen since October 7, as Israel is fighting “a multi-front war of survival.” In his remarks, he framed October 7 as a moral imperative.
“May October 7, 2023, forever remind us that evil and antisemitism are not mere metaphors – but brutal realities that God and Holy Scripture enjoin us to combat with all our might,” stated Amb. Huckabee. “The United States stands unwaveringly with our close ally and partner Israel because we know in our hearts that it is right. On this day of all days, we renew our pledge to Israel and the Jewish people: You will never stand alone.”
Chairman of Christians in Defense of Israel Mat Staver said, “On this solemn day, we extend our deepest sympathy to the Jewish people and stand in unwavering solidarity with the State of Israel. We mourn and remember the fallen, but we move forward in resolute support of Israel’s right to exist and defend itself against terror and evil. This anniversary reminds us we must continue to confront antisemitism, reject terrorism in all its forms, and stand with those who courageously protect life, peace, and freedom.”
