Dear Sir or Madam,

As an American and a friend of Israel, I am deeply concerned that the U.S. is considering the sale of F-35 jets to Turkey. In stark terms, it makes no sense to provide Israel’s existential enemy — as Turkey now is under President Erdogan — with the means to make good on its genocidal threats against Israel. For that reason, I ask you to block, through an act of Congress, the sale of any F-35 jets to Turkey.

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said, “Turkey is a great country, but it's governed by a man who calls openly for the annihilation of Israel.” Under Erdogan, Turkey is fast becoming the “new Iran.” That’s no exaggeration.

Turkey’s president curses the Jewish state, calling on “Allah” to “destroy Zionist Israel” and proclaiming, “Jerusalem is our city.” Erdogan is serious. His government published a 758-page book detailing a phased plan to conquer Jerusalem. Erdogan’s scheme also threatens Israel, the Middle East, and the free world.

Giving Erdogan the means to make good on his threats betrays Israel and is a suicidal act on our part. It must not happen. Please ensure that Turkey NEVER obtains the F-35 jet. Protect our ally and our nation’s future.
