Dear Sir or Madam,

As a friend of Israel, I am alarmed by the unprecedented $6 billion ransom payment the Biden administration is providing Iran in exchange for five Americans unjustly detained in Iran. Biden’s action enriches the world’s foremost terror state and encourages Iran to take more Americans to win billion-dollar payouts. Plus, Biden’s ransom is part, it is reported, of a much larger, clandestine nuclear deal.

I strongly urge the House and Senate to investigate Joe Biden for what appears to be his violation of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act (INARA). This federal law mandates that Biden first inform Congress of any accord with Iran linked to its nuclear program before lifting sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

Biden has lifted sanctions by releasing $6 billion in assets held in South Korea and $10 billion held in Iraq. Biden may be assisting in the release of another $7 billion via the International Monetary Fund and some $3 billion held in Japan. At the same time, White House negotiators have, it is reported, crafted an unannounced nuclear deal that calls on Iran to halt enrichment activity at the current level until after the 2024 presidential election.

Congress must act with dispatch to assert its obligations under INARA by investigating Biden and passing a Resolution of Disapproval rejecting Biden’s record-setting $6 billion ransom payment and his clandestine Iran nuclear deal, which smacks of political opportunism, puts Americans at risk, and funds Iran’s maniacal pursuit of Israel’s destruction.
