S 1637 — the Combating BDS Act of 2023 — creates an avenue for cities, states, and the U.S. government to extricate themselves from the racist “BDS” (Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel) initiatives developed by those who wish to see an end to the Jewish state.

Dear Member of Congress,

Israel is America’s best friend and ally — a stalwart nation that sides with the U.S. at the U.N. and supplies our nation with invaluable security support and vital intelligence. But now Israel is under assault and needs American support. Yet Congress has failed to come to our ally’s aid.

I am writing to encourage you to support S 1637, a bill to provide for non-preemption of measures by state and local governments to divest from entities that engage in certain boycott, divestment, or sanctions activities targeting Israel or persons doing business in Israel or Israeli-controlled territories, and for other purposes.

This is crucial legislation to protect Israel from the antisemitic and terror-tied boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement. If passed, it will help deliver a knockout punch to BDS in America.

The threat to Israel is existential. But Congress, so far, has failed to act. That is why, as a U.S. citizen and proud friend of Israel, I respectfully urge you to stand with Israel.
