A Petition to Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Dear Speaker Pelosi,

I am deeply concerned that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. And my concern is rooted not just in Rep. Omar's repeated expressions of vile, anti-Semitic hate.

That, by itself, SHOULD be enough for you to kick her off the Committee. Those who repeatedly invoke base anti-Semitic tropes--ideas which have led to the persecution and death of Jewish people--have no place on this sensitive panel which handles some of America's closest secrets.

But as bad as her words are, it is Rep. Omar's associations which are even more troubling. She is an associate, friend and fundraiser for two organizations linked with the financing of terror: Islamic Relief USA and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Omar previously served on the advisory board of the Minnesota branch of CAIR, which is a Hamas-linked, pro-Palestinian advocacy group. CAIR helped raise funds for her election last year. And she is scheduled to speak in March at a CAIR-Los Angeles banquet.

The U.S. government listed CAIR in 2007 as an unindicted, co-conspirator in a plot to send more than $12 million to the terrorist group, Hamas. Because of that, the FBI severed all ties with CAIR in 2008.

And last month, Omar headlined a fundraiser for Islamic Relief USA, a group tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. Both Israel and the United Arab Emirates have banned Islamic Relief Worldwide--the parent of Islamic Relief USA--because it funds terror.

I believe Rep. Omar's connections to CAIR, (an unindicted, co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial), to Hamas, and to the Muslim Brotherhood, disqualify her from service on the Committee.

These associations with terror-tied Muslim groups make her unfit to serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and I respectfully ask you to immediately remove her from the Committee, on which she has access to ultra-sensitive intelligence information.
